Stephen A. Vitali, Sr., 66, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on December 7, 2012 surrounded by family. Stephen is survived by his loving wife Kristen Schmidt, sons Stephen Vitali and Scott Winston (fiancée Kelly Schneider), daughters Laura Speir (husband Michael) and Lindsay Winston (fiancé Devon Roepcke), father Albert Vitali, sister Monica Scanlan, brothers James Vitali and Andrew Vitali (wife Donna), sister-in-law Susan Vitali and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Stephen was preceded in death by his mother Rose Vitali and brother David Vitali. Stephen was born on June 14, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His entire life was devoted to his family and service to the underserved. He attended Villanova University (Educational Administration), St. Joseph’s University (BS, Accounting) and Rowan University (MA, Special Education). Since 1986, he lived and worked in Scottsdale, Arizona, directing behavioral health and social welfare service programs for children and families. Stephen loved to learn. He shared his experiences, wisdom, humor, (and wine) with others. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m. at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona 85253. There will be a reception immediately following.
