VOLPE, CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” DAVID

May 15, 2010 2 Condolences

VOLPE,

Christopher “Chris” David Volpe was born on August 29, 1985 in Mt. Kisco, NY. He lived most of his short, though exciting life in Spokane, WA and moved to Arizona almost 5 years ago to attend school. Chris was killed Monday, May 10, 2010 while riding his bike home from finals at ASU. Chris was a free spirit, who loved life, his family and friends. He truly lived life to the fullest. He was loyal, loving, adventurous, easy-going, and absolutely one of the most naturally funny and entertaining people you could ever meet. Chris enjoyed so many aspects of life, but he was an avid cyclist, runner, snowboarder, traveler and was a self proclaimed “geek”. Chris was looking forward to graduating from ASU Schools of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in May of 2011. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Birukow of Surprise, AZ; father, Joe Volpe of Spokane, WA; brothers, Tony and Matt Volpe; God-daughter/niece Sofia Volpe; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and FRIENDS! Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 4715 N. Central Ave. Phoenix. A Memorial of his life will follow at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M., 4800 East Indian School Rd. Phoenix. On Sunday, May 16 there will be a Memorial Dedication at the corner of Ashe and University in Tempe at 2:00 P.M. followed by drinks in his honor at Casey Moore’s, 850 S. Ashe Ave, Tempe. Chris was a very fun, laid back person. To respect that, we ask that all who attend any or all of these services to dress casual.

I was never fortunate to meet Chris but I feel like I do after hearing much anecdotal stories from his aunt, whom I currently work with. He seemed to be a wonderful person, a gentle soul and am saddened by his early departure from this world. I would simply like to give the family my deepest and dearest condolences. All there is to do is take it one day at a time. I am certain he is a warm and happy place, smiling down on all of us.

    Jon from Jersey
