Robert Wade Glamor Shot crop 11x14 1

Robert Harold Wade, 65, born in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away November 3, 2020. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Young, Arizona, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Interment will be at the Young Community Cemetery.

His quiet sense of humor eased many tense situations and made people feel loved. Following in his father’s footsteps, he gave nicknames to his loved ones and had inside jokes with everyone. Recently, he and his wife, Susan, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

A man of many passions and talents, Robert attended North High School graduating in 1973 where he participated in Student Government, Baseball, Choir, Marching Band and served as Drum Major his senior year. His great joy was blowing his baritone in ASU’s Marching Band and performing in 2 Fiesta Bowl half-time shows. Following his graduation from ASU in 1979 with a degree in Economics, he went to work for Mervyns, then into law enforcement and ended his working career at Chase Bank. He loved hunting, learning and collecting guns. With his family by his side, they built their home from the ground up. In the process, everyone in the family learned the proper use and love for DeWalt power tools. Operating a ham radio and riding ATV’s were his latest interests.

Robert was known for his love of the Lord, his family, friends, and music. He served the Lord as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, Choir Director, Seminary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Primary Worker, member of the Branch Presidency, Elders Quorum President and High Counselor. He gave the best hugs…ever!!!

Robert is survived: by his wife, Susan; daughter, Stacy (Richard Pfeifer); daughter, Jamie, daughter, Stephanie; son, Ryan (Ginger); son, Ross; son, Mark Brenay (Samantha) and 9 grandchildren: Alexa, Benjamin, Caeden, Dalin, Eliza, Christian, Aspen, Felicity, and Roderick.

He will be missed but takes with him all the love his family and friends can send until they meet again.

Mr. Wade as I called him, was a great human being. While being honored to sit next to him at Chase Bank, he always gave the best insight and best suggestions! He taught me so many new and creative things, and I would go home and share them with my young children and family including: how to cook doughnuts while camping, softball drills for my little league softball teams, parenting, arts, science, relationships, family dynamics, home improvements, you name it we discussed it!! I am still amazed and proud of who Mr. Wade was and is as I will forever remember his voice and facial expressions. I’ve seen him cry and he has seen me cry. I wish I knew him my entire life! He would talk about how his wife Susan loved steak, and he loved cooking it for her! I remember telling him that I wish my family loved steaks so we could eat them more often! He referred to Susan as a meat-a-saurus because she liked steak so much! He was so proud of all of his kids! He really enjoyed talking about his kids and who they have become..I hope his children know that their father was so proud of them all. One of the best things that happened in my life was to know and build a relationship with Robert Wade. As most of his loved ones feel, I wish I had more time with him, I miss him, I will forever remember Robert Wade. He left an amazing legacy and I hope to see him again one day.

Robert, may the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand

Condolence from Matt Brown on November 27th, 2020 10:18 am

I only new Robert for a short time but in that time he made an impression on me in a positive way. I was new to the department Robert worked in for Chase and he took it upon himself to help me and train me. I remember picking his brain and learning all I could from him. In that time he would tell me stories of his past and would also give us regular updates on what was going on with wildfires in Arizona. He was very proud of his daughter and kids and I hope that they know how proud he was of them as it was something you could tell in the way he would talk about what they did and he had a sparkle in his eye when mentioning his family. I wish I would of had more time to spend with him getting to know him better. In the short time I knew him he made me feel welcomed and helped me adjust to my new role and I will forever remember his kindness to me. Farewell Robert and Godspeed.
