
William P. Riley passed away on June 2nd, 2008. He was 82 years old. His 83rd birthday would have been in August. Bill lived in the Phoenix and Colorado area off and on since 1944. Bill was a decorated Marine from the Korean Conflict. He received a Silver Star for his above and beyond efforts in the Conflict. The Silver Star is the 2nd highest award in the USMC. His wife of 40 years, Gwen, preceded him in death. Bill was the youngest of three. He is survived by his sisters Mary Jane and Kathryn, nieces and nephews, Rosemary, Maureen, Ann Marie, Dennis, and Patrick, step-daughter and son Linda and Capp, step-grandchild Michael and Debbie. He is also survived by a great group of friends from the Midwest and Colorado Springs, Ed, Ed, Dick and Suzi. Special thanks to Linda, Michael and Debbie for their efforts with Bill in the last days. There will be a memorial celebration of life in the winter. Distribution of ashes will take place in Colorado during the summer. Donations in Bill’s name can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. As Bill would have said “Life is a weiner and I will see you two hours early.”
