William Vincent Gaul passed away peacefully on April 14, 2008. Our Dad was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 17, 1950 to the late Vincent and Ruth Gaul and proceeded to live an amazing life. He graduated Fenwick High School in 1968 and went on to Notre Dame University. There he studied pre-med and married his high school sweetheart Patty Marrs. Upon leaving Notre Dame he went on to earn a medical degree at Loyola University School of Medicine. In these incredible years of study he was able to care and provide for the three of us and a beautiful wife. While my siblings and I ruled the roost, Dad would sneak into a closet for the quiet he needed in order to study his medical books. He wanted to be the best. In 1982 our family moved to Arizona and Dad began his practice of medicine in Sun City. He was on staff at Boswell and Del Webb Hospitals for 25 years. He was instrumental in the development of the Sun City Cardiac Center. He was a true innovator in the field of cardiology. He loved his patients. Healing was his passion.
Our Dad supported us in any endeavor we pursued and gave us guidance. He taught us respect and the importance of an honest day’s work. He allowed us to have fun and we are blessed with wonderful memories.
Dr. William V. Gaul is survived by his wife Patty; his three children Brian, Billy, and Bridget; his grandsons Beau and Connor Moffroid; his son-in-law Timothy Moffroid; his sisters Pat Tom Dorian and Ginny FJ Cullen; his brothers Bob Cathy and Terry Lisa and many nieces and nephews.
