Sandra “Sandy” Sue Wood

Sandra “Sandy” Sue Wood, 79, passed on Monday, June 27, 2022 in Phoenix Arizona. Sandy is survived by her husband Walton Wood, sister Kay Cummings, daughters Pamela de Leon, Cindy Hall, Debbie Howell, Brenda Stradling, son Edward Wood, 11 grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her beloved Yorkie fur baby Squirt. Sandy was born in Searcy Arkansas, on December 12, 1942, to Bill and Maurine Griffin. Sandy spent most of her life in Arizona where she met her husband of 49 years Walton “Walt” Wood and worked for APS for 31 years. Together, Sandy and Walt built a beautiful life full of family, friends and many irreplaceable memories. Sandy was a strong, beautiful, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was everything all in one. A presence that cannot and will not be forgotten.

Funeral Service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 9:00am. Interment to follow at 11:00am at City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St., Mesa.

After the services all are welcome to a celebration of Sandy’s life at 12 o’clock at the Wanderin at 4140 E. McDowell Rd. Phx, AZ 85008.
