
Yolanda Licosati, who died February 21, 2008, was born in Cortale, a small village in Calabria, Italy. She emigrated to the United States at age 19, and settled in Matawan, New Jersey, where she married her husband, Cosimo, who was born in Naples, Italy. He died December 25, 1980.
She worked as a seamstress and dressmaker and devoted her life to her husband and children, a son, Gennaro, and a daughter, Rose.
She moved to Phoenix in 1948 for health reasons, and, obviously it was a good move health-wise.
Her son Gennaro, is a physician, who practiced medicine for fifty years in Phoenix. Yolanda lived with him and his wife, the former Margaret Daggett, for forty years. They currently reside in Scottsdale.
Her daughter, Rose, married Preston Sult, a first cousin of Margaret, and they reside in Redmond, Washington.
She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., with a rosary service at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24th, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 25th, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road.
